I really enjoy Nip/Tuck because the characters are ever changing, and the dastardly deeds keep happening in this world where beauty has no boundary. The season five DVD set continues from part one, but if you haven't been following the series, you won't be disappointed, as flashbacks fill the viewer in on all of the gory details. If you like your TV shows raw, diabolical, bloody and sexy, then Nip/Tuck is available for your amusement.

L.A., the city of Angels. Tinseltown. La-La Land. The place that's made a bundle selling glamor, illusion and dreams -- the perfect place for the newly relocated plastic-surgery practice of McNamara/Troy. It's also the place for Lights! Camera! Scalpels! as Sean and Christian go from consulting on a TV drama about plastic surgery, to being on-camera players (and rivals for stardom). It's the place for wavering Kimber to become a porn star again, for strung-out Matt to try to go straight, for Julia and Christian to rekindle a flame, for all the personal and professional entanglements that are McNamara/Troy. And, it's the place for skilled surgical procedures, some silly, some heartrendingly serious. Welcome to L.A.!

We pick up the action with an aspiring rapper wanting more booty to shake, would-be vampires want their nasty neck wounds covered, a yoga teacher wants a reduction in his male appendage, one of the docs gets stabbed in the back, and so much more in this 342-minute, three-disc set.

What makes the series so addictive is the fine acting, excellent story writing and episodes that make your jaw drop.  You never know what is going to happen next, and when it does, it's very likely to embarrass, shock and hopefully have comic relief. The show is a cut above most in the same genre.

Nip/Tuck does contain sex, drugs, language, violence and guilty pleasure wicked comedy, so it is highly recommended that you lock the DVD away after viewing. Oh, there are some scenes so bloody, you may want to watch it before dinner.

The DVD has a bonus. Be sure to watch The Science of Beauty featurette -- you may get a few unexpected tips.

FINAL ANALYSIS: A devilish sitcom that burns in hell.
