The film Cop Out has so many things going for it, including an hilarious script, a strong cast, and a director who knows how to make their actors give their all. I really enjoyed the film, and those that like a little slapstick combined with situation comedy should be commenting about it for days. Although the film is skewed for a male audience, women can enjoy it just as much.

Action, energy and relentless aggression are three words that come to mind when speaking of From Paris With Love. The fast-action, James Bond-ish thriller serves up a huge heap of guts and guns. If you like films that can turn up upside down, then this kick-butt terrorist flick should be at the top of your movie wish list.

Imagine that you are still alive in a world gone mad following a nuclear world war. What would your reason be to live, and what would you do to survive? That’s the premise of the excellent film, The Book Of Eli. Brilliant acting led by Denzel Washington, first-class direction by the Hughes Brothers, and amazing cinematography by Don Burgess, bring the gut-wrenching story to life, creating a stunner for science fiction and action movie lovers...

An all around great cast, a strange but fascinating story, fine direction and innovative cinematography, make The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus an entertaining film. For those who like their films bizarre and captivating, this is your chance to fantasize.

Dr. Watson, I presume, is one phrase that still comes up today, but was coined by Arthur Conan Doyle in his novels about Sherlock Holmes over half a century ago. Guy Ritchie takes Doyle’s books and creates a movie thriller starring a great cast, excellent sets and a very creative storyline for the screen. Easily in my top ten for 2009, the film is a must-see.

Powerful, amazing, entertaining and involving describes the way I feel about James Cameron’s Avatar, a film that’s a treat for sci-fi fans and action junkies around the world. It’s the blockbuster of the year and should outpace anything that has hit theatre screens in 3D. If you see one film this year in 3D, make it Avatar.

Action is the key word for Ninja Assassin, and there are copious amounts of it in the film. If you have heard of at least some of the martial arts that are displayed in the film, this is your kind of movie. I liked the stylized fighting, storyline, choreography and amazing cinematography.

Think desolation, wasteland and survival when you go to see The Road. The film is brilliantly directed, acted and photographed, showing the dreary side of the closing stages of civilization. I liked the taught drama and what-if storyline in this purposely depressing film.

There have been many disaster movies throughout the years, but none as brilliantly depicted as 2012. Whether the storyline is plausible or not, 2012 provides a nearly three-hour breathtaking roller coaster ride. The film integrates a number of catastrophic events, including earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, ash storms and many more, into a heart-pounding realistic movie of seismic proportions. If you see one last movie in 2009, and are a true action junkie, then it should...

A true story about soccer (Football) brings some very good entertainment to the screen. It's called The Damned United -- and I liked the acting, cinematography and direction of this sports-period piece. If you like your competition with some drama and action then The Damned United is your kick in the grass.
