Teen males and action-adventure lovers who have not seen the original (and I bet not many of you have) will probably love Clash of the Titans. Packed with CGI fight scenes that sprout flying devils, a slithering Medusa, and a gigantic Kraken -- you will get the chance to see some cool action on the huge screen, and it'll give you a break from your video games. Although the film is worth a see, I...

There’s a new teen feature in town and it has some very cool special effects, a good adolescent storyline and continuous action that should keep the kiddies enthralled. The film is called Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, and was scripted from a book by Rick Riordan, who has captured the male teen market with his boundless series. If your youngster needs to fill his mind with adventure, then this film will do...

The storyline of The Lovely Bones is extremely chilling. The acting is stellar, and the direction very good for the most part, but the pacing -- especially during Jackson’s surreal scenes -- slows the film to a crawl at times. Even though I enjoyed the film for the content, I found myself getting antsy waiting for a resolve.

An all around great cast, a strange but fascinating story, fine direction and innovative cinematography, make The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus an entertaining film. For those who like their films bizarre and captivating, this is your chance to fantasize.

Powerful, amazing, entertaining and involving describes the way I feel about James Cameron’s Avatar, a film that’s a treat for sci-fi fans and action junkies around the world. It’s the blockbuster of the year and should outpace anything that has hit theatre screens in 3D. If you see one film this year in 3D, make it Avatar.

There have been many disaster movies throughout the years, but none as brilliantly depicted as 2012. Whether the storyline is plausible or not, 2012 provides a nearly three-hour breathtaking roller coaster ride. The film integrates a number of catastrophic events, including earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, ash storms and many more, into a heart-pounding realistic movie of seismic proportions. If you see one last movie in 2009, and are a true action junkie, then it should...

Well, bad news here, The Box is slow moving, poorly directed, and therefore, has weak performances. The trailer, which seems to promise a science fiction thriller, ends up to be an enticement to a storyline that looses its credibility early on in the film. I wish I could give you a saving grace point that would help The Box, as I really wanted it to be a great watch, but sci-fi lovers will probably have...

This child’s book transfers nicely to the screen with embellishments that make it fun to watch. Filled with lessons to be learned and reaffirmed, this film is great for the whole family. Even though it may be a little scary for the young tots, Where The Wild Things Are can be entertaining, and a great teaching tool as well.

Quite interesting to say the least, District 9 grabs hold of its cool mind-bending storyline and dishes it up with a lot of action. Although I had some minor misgivings on how the story played out, the movie entertained me in spite of its barely credible ending.
If you are into fantasy films with a lot of action, do not care much for character build up but like a lot of computer graphics that sell...

The wait is over. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has finally arrived and it is well worth the mounting anticipation. Daniel Radcliffe and Michael Gambon star in the sixth installment of the popular series, based on best-selling author J.K. Rowling's novels about a boy wizard with the weight of the entire wizarding world on his shoulders. The film is phenomenal; about as perfect as any Harry Potter film could get. It is essentially The Dark...
