I think Bruce Willis is probably the best all-around film star that has survived nearly three decades without a dud.  And with Surrogates it’s a near miss.  Just eking above average, the film survives with some awesome special effects and Willis’ creative performance.  If you like science fiction that goes hyper realistic, then Surrogates should be on your DVD short list.

Bringing a crime legend to the screen takes a good deal of research, good casting and impeccable direction -- and that all came together for Public Enemies.  Director Michael Mann not only captures the essence of John Dillinger in his movie, but that of Baby Face Nelson as well.  Public Enemies is probably Mann’s best, no in my opinion, it is his best film to date.

One of these days, someone is going to have to make a movie about poor people in the hills of Virginia terrorized by yuppies. Sign me up if they ever do, because there are better things you can do with your money, such as throwing it out your window and hoping a poor person will pick it up, rather than buying or renting the direct-to-video sequel Wrong Turn 3: Left For Dead.

Turn out all the lights, drop the DVD into you player, grab hold of your significant other and watch Drag Me to Hell, a scary horror flick that had me jumping during nearly every scene.  The film is Sam Raimi’s best horror effort with a lot of frightening images, disgusting excretions, evil demons, hideous faces and other things that make you want to cringe or vomit.  If I haven’t made you ill from my description...

I really enjoy Nip/Tuck because the characters are ever changing, and the dastardly deeds keep happening in this world where beauty has no boundary. The season five DVD set continues from part one, but if you haven't been following the series, you won't be disappointed, as flashbacks fill the viewer in on all of the gory details. If you like your TV shows raw, diabolical, bloody and sexy, then Nip/Tuck is available for your amusement. ...
