This Weekend- April 18-20!

The Earth Day Network & Green Apple Festival presented by Chase chose parks with eco-considerations and with presence of an organic atmosphere. That means you can walk, ride your bike, take the bus or hop on a train to a place where the air is fresher and the grass is greener. What’s better than a park to support environmental awareness, where you can lounge around with your family and friends to listen to free music from great artists, and have fun in a place that no less preserves nature? What’s even better is that all eight parks will be hosting the event simultaneously starting on April 18^th and culminating on April 20^th.

Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) take a break from their usual gig to star in a gritty reality show called “Ghostfacers” which chronicles the pursuit of the paranormal.

Ed Zeddmore (A. J. Buckley) and Harry Spengler (Travis Wester) have created a radically different, and sometimes violent, show full of profanity that takes them to the Morton Mansion, an abandoned estate which becomes one of the most haunted places in America one night each year. However, as their team begins to get picked off in grisly manners not fit for television, they realize they are in over their heads. Lights, camera...lots of action!

STAND and the Genocide Intervention Network (GI-Net) are proud to partner with Participant Media in sponsoring the nationwide college tour of the critically acclaimed new documentary, Darfur Now, which will be available on DVD May 27th. The film explores the Darfur conflict in Sudan through the first-hand experiences of Don Cheadle (internationally known actor and activist), Hejewa Adam (rebel of the Sudan Liberation Movement), Pablo Recalde (humanitarian), Ahmed Mahmoud Abaker (community leader in a West Darfur refugee camp), Louis Moreno-Ocampo (international prosecutor), and Adam Sterling (activist).

Across the country, tens of thousands of students have shown that they will not stand idly by in the face of genocide. From passing legislation to fundraising for relief and protection efforts in Darfur, they have declared that they are the anti-genocide generation. But we can do more...
