Obama and McCain get Comic Print E-mail

IDW Publishing has taken biographies of Barack Obama and John McCain and illustrated them into comic book art.

Highly acclaimed authors Jeff Mariotte and Andy Helfer wrote the two comics, both entitled Presidential Material, on Obama and McCain, respectively. Tom Morgan and Steve Thompson illustrated the 28 pages of art in each book.

Steve Valentine (Crossing Jordan) has been tapped to host television’s most physically and psychologically challenging competition show yet. Estate of Panic consists of six 1-hour episodes and will premiere Wednesday, November 12 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

Estate of Panic is the newest reality thrill ride from the production company behind Fear Factor. In each episode, large quantities of cash are hidden in a massive estate and seven strangers are invited to find the money. But all is not what it seems, and the contestants will be challenged throughout the mansion to overcome the terrors that await them. This is not your average game show folks.

SCI FI Green Lights New Show RelicQuest Print E-mail

The green light on RelicQuest (still a working title), a new investigative adventure series hosted by documentary filmmaker Bruce Burgess, was announced today by Dave Howe, President, SCI FI Channel. With a 6-episode commitment and production slated to begin in October, the one-hour show will premiere in early 2009.

RelicQuest is an action and adventure series that travels the globe in search of some of history's greatest relics and artifacts. British filmmaker Bruce Burgess guides the viewer in a first-hand exploration down mysterious roads to uncover objects fabled to hold hidden powers and mystical significance for both ancient and modern cultures. Utilizing worldwide contacts and exclusive access to restricted sites, RelicQuest promises to be the action-packed thrill ride through the world's most interesting sites, as you have never seen them.

Diesel To Hold a Wordwide Rock n' Roll Circus Print E-mail

Italian-based fashion company Diesel is kicking off the release of their newest collection, Diesel xXx with a grand spectacle: a worldwide 24-hour party that will take place in 17 cities and eight time zones.

The celebration will begin Saturday, Oct. 11 in Tokyo, Japan and systematically move through Beijing, Dubai, Athens, Amsterdam, Milan, Zurich, Munich, Paris, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Barcelona, Oslo, Helsinki, London and Sao Paulo before ending with a finale bash in New York City.

College Grads Give Up Job Satisfaction for More Money Print E-mail

With the cost of attending college on the rise, a poll by Experience Inc. found that half of all college students would be willing to accept a job that offered them less satisfaction than other job options if it meant higher pay. 

The 336 college students and graduates say that they would take the higher paying job in order to pay off their college loans as soon as possible. The impact of student loans began before graduation day for students, 47 percent of whom say student loans were one of the deciding factors when choosing a career to pursue.
