thestranded_comicbookcover.jpg Virgin Comics and NBC Universal/SCI FI have gotten together to develop stories as comic books first, and then later developed into the world of television, films and beyond. The Story of Coheed and Cambria Print E-mail
Written by Kait Silva
Monday, 11 February 2008

coheedandcambria_pic.jpg When ACED Magazine recently interviewed Coheed and Cambria, they had just come back from the worst tour experience in the band's history.

"We were in Columbia and we were playing this festival called "Rock al Parque" and there was 90,000 people there or something and the whole thing was such a cluster f***," the band said.

"The day before it snowed in Columbia, which it has never done in the history of Columbia. And so the show got canceled and all the bands got mushed together. We got muscled on by people. Nobody could understand each other and when we walked out there to play, none of the front of the house was ready."

In front of 90,000 concert-goers, Coheed and Cambria played with no sound coming through the PA system. "It was pretty embarrassing, but we did the best we could and everybody toughed through it."

The Skinny on The Shake Print E-mail
Written by Kait Silva

theshake_image.jpg When you hear a sleek pop-rock fusion that jumps up in your face like Kick It, the debut album from The Shake, you may not think of the men behind it as a group of relatively normal college guys. However, that"s what these guys are.

Students by day, rockers by night, the guys of The Shake are the some of the newest masked heroes of New York City. Their mission was to save the city from the homogeny of modern-day music. With that mission accomplished, they are well on their way to saving the world with their debut album.

Jann Klose, A Beautiful Dream Print E-mail
Written by John Casquarelli
Thursday, 24 January 2008

jannklose_pic.jpgJann Klose's new album, Reverie, is a beautiful ensemble of soothing lyrics and sweet-sounding rhythms that take hold of the listener's imagination, inviting them into a transcendental-musical trip beyond the limitations of the nine-to-five tangible world that far too often acts as a paralysis to creativity. Carl G. Jung would be proud. Be that as it may, when asked to explain his unique and enchanting easy-listening sounds, Jann describes his music as "Melodic pop rock ... That's the quick and easy description. If I could I'd add strong folk and jazz influences as well as some soul and blues."

Born in Mannheim, Germany, Jann's family relocated to Nairobi, Kenya when he was less than a year old. A few years later, Jann and his family left Kenya for Johannesburg, South Africa. Currently residing in the Bronx, New York, we wondered what it was like living in Africa and how it contributed to him as a musician? "I get asked that a lot and it's difficult to answer. I think it has influenced me more as a person than as a musician. It has made me a more open-minded individual. I enjoy different cultures. I'm drawn to them because they have something to offer that I don't know anything about," says Jann.

Written by John Delia
Thursday, 24 January 2008

eva_pic.jpg Getting to know a celebrity in a short period of time in order to get a good interview can be tough, especially when you only have ten minutes. Because Eva Longoria Parker is so nice and charming, my conversation with the leading lady turned into a great little interview.

Eva, best known for her work on Desperate Housewives, from which she received a Golden Globe nomination, stars in her newest film Over Her Dead Body, which opens everywhere on February 1st. Other notable films include The Sentinel, Harsh Times and Carlita"s Secret. She is married to Tony Parker, the point guard for the San Antonio Spurs.
