"We are no longer doing movies with women in the lead."
This pearl, which has been all over the net in the past days for obvious reasons, was reported to come from Jeff Robinov, who, contrary to the logical assumption, is not a Neanderthal from the past, but Warner Bros.' President of Production.
The alleged quote would have been allegedly triggered by recent releases like The Brave One, with Jodie Foster in the lead, or Nicole Kidman's The Invasion, and their poor performance at the box office.

Perhaps there is no more controversial an issue of the 2008
election cycle than that of illegal immigration. It is a topic plagued
with partisan and electoral politics unlike any other on our national
agenda. Despite the concerns of the everyday citizen, illegal
immigration continues to go unadvised, which is not only a risk to our
national security, but a continuous drain on our country"s resources.
Illegal immigration refers to the unlawful crossing across national
borders in such a manner that violates the immigration laws of the
destination country. In the case of the United States: the U.S./
Mexican/Canadian borders (or boats off Florida's coastline). Illegal
immigration is defined by a number of political issues including the
economy, social welfare, education, health care, slavery, prostitution,
crime, legal protections, voting rights, public services and human
rights.

Halloween. We know it as October 31st. The time to dress up in
costumes, go to haunted houses, trick or treat and just act silly for a
day. But what IS Halloween? A night when the scary ghoulish monsters
come alive ... a time when people had to dress up in costumes to hide from
witches? Another reason to eat tons of sugar? There has to be a
deeper meaning to this 2000 year-old holiday.

Several thousand anti-war protesters showed up in Washington this September to relay their opinions about the troops in Iraq. They marched downtown, clashing with the police near the Capitol's steps where nearly 160 people were arrested.
Protesters walked with signs and banners in hand, peacefully chanting and demonstrating their right to free speech.
Eventually they took part in a lay down on the Capitol lawn, in what they called a "die-in
with signs on top of their bodies to represent soldiers killed in
Iraq.
Apparently, arrests began when some of the protesters started climbing over a barricade at the foot of the Capitol stepswell, that is the "boxed" story.
