Rated: PG-13 A mastermind of comedy meets drama. The wild antics of Simon Pegg
(Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz) and Hank Azaria (The Simpsons, The
Birdcage) merge in this wonderfully hilarious and surprisingly touching
movie of an overweight man named Dennis (Pegg), who, on his marriage
day, fled from his impregnated wife and is still trying to win her back
after five years.
This culminates with Dennis, an overweight,
out-of-shape man that never finishes anything, deciding to run a
marathon to prove to everyone that he can change.

Run Fatboy Run combines the subtle, witty, physical humor of Simon Pegg, with the snide, subversive comedy of Hank Azaria. Dennis’s friend, Gordon (Dylan Moran), with his laid back, to-the-point, sarcastic honesty and lack of humility creates the perfect counterbalance to the quippish humor of the competitiveness between Dennis and his ex-fiancé’s current lover, Whit (Azaria).
The comedic drama of Run Fatboy Run is back-dropped with the serenely beautiful landscape and architecture of London. The allure of the scenery is a character in itself, building a polished elegance that helps the comedy rise to the position of a touching drama that is reached with splendid perfection.
