A very strong and beautiful beat creates a musically driven, determined background to the soft, melodious voice of Vivion. These elements work in perfect unison by catching the listener’s attention with the striking sincerity that resonates through the song, and holding onto them with the sweetly passionate lyrics that flow through Vivion’s lips. All of the components that make up Juniper Lane work wondrously together to turn the alternative roots of their music into a beautifully haunting experience that can never be forgotten. Its sound echoes like a silver cord dragging your soul through a dark forest on a stormy night.

Juniper Lane is a quartet from the Washington D.C. area that has been on the rise through the indie scene, breaking through the barriers of mainstream media. Wake from Yourself is their first album since the lead singer and pianist, Vivion Smith, awoke from a week-long coma, and the album is packed with the wisdom gained from dealing with such impacting experiences.
