Go for great food, second-lines, impromptu performances, special shows -- tour New Orleans' most famous neighborhood while looking at historic architecture and listening to Louisiana's greatest jazz and blues musicians. To get the soul of New Orleans during the French Quarter Festival, only local musicians are scheduled to play. Aside from the music, you can visit art galleries, dine in fine restaurants or go to the French Market for souvenir shopping on the riverfront. There will be over 60 booths of great food and drink awaiting those who attend. At the "World's Largest Jazz Brunch", booths serve local delicacies such as Cajun meat pies, oyster patties, alligator sausage, gumbo, red beans and rice and jambalaya.
The French Quarter Festival also caters to children with fun events. McDonough 15 School hosts a "Family Friendly Fest" with children's entertainment, activities, art workshops, a visual art sale, and puppet shows. |
