Duffy, born Aimee Anne Duffy, is a Welsh singer that has been topping the charts in Britain ever since the release of her debut album Rockferry. Once a student of Chester University in the United Kingdom, Duffy left the school to follow her musical aspirations, and has quickly reached the recognition that she deserves.
Her instant success and fame has brought her music to the United States.
Pop/Alternative with a definite Motown influence, Duffy’s music is an
anachronistic blend of both the old and the new. Duffy’s winsome voice
is filled with a melodious and relaxed simplicity that is full of the
original beauty of the Motown scene, and she combines it with the
alternative cultural sound of her music. Duffy’s music creates such a
unique blend of influences, making her such a success in the
United Kingdom, that it just could not be contained on a single
continent. Good stuff!
