mtvU and the Kaiser Family Foundation have launched PosorNot.com - an online game designed to fight the viral spread of HIV/AIDS.
This game is supported by Wyclef, Will.i.am, and Alyssa Milano, just to name a few. mtvU wants to reach college students and young people with the following message: there's no way to deduce someone's HIV status from what they look like, listen to, dress like, do in their free time, etc.
Talking about HIV/AIDS is still considered taboo by many, and this faulty way of thinking is causing more people to have it, because no one talks about it and no one says they have it if they know. What's worse, no one wants to get tested.
PosorNot.com is a game where people try to figure out who's positive and who's negative for HIV/AIDS, and the site gives an inside look at the lives of the individuals depicted in the game.
The game talks about the disease, getting tested, and using protection. With one click, a person can send the game to everyone they know, spreading the word about HIV/AIDS. Not only are celebrities a part of the awareness game, people who are positive and negative for HIV/AIDS speak personally about their experiences.
The Postives (Pos) speak about how they found out, calling ex-lovers, and about long-delayed HIV tests and blood results collected at the birth of a child. The Negatives (Not) speak about how the disease has impacted their lives, claiming wives and mothers, others they've known, and many they barely knew, but watched suffer.
PosorNot.com is bringing awareness, hope, and empowerment to the forefront. Check out the site and learn more.
