Viewers have had an inside look into the life of young people with MTV's series True Life, and new episodes will come back starting Thursday, May 15 at 10:00 p.m. ET.
There will be three new episodes all about embarrassing parents, secret lives on the web, and dealing with schizophrenia.
True Life's episode on embarrassing parents is about parents that seem to take pleasure in embarrassing their children more than they should. We'll get a look into 14 year-old Niki's life and how she is stressed about having a surgically-enhanced, belly-baring mother who looks more like a Playboy Playmate than a parent. We'll also see the life of 17 year-old Candy who has professional clowns as parents.
Not knowing whether what you're seeing is real or a hallucination is something people with schizophrenia have to deal with every day. The fear of hurting themselves is overwhelming, as is the thought that the world is plotting against them. Over two million Americans have been diagnosed with schizophrenia. True Life will look at the lives of three young people trying to live a normal life with this disorder.
The Internet is a phenomenon no one can seem to get enough of. Some people love the prospect of being able to become a completely different person, and the last new episode of True Life is about three young people embodying an alter ego online, which is in complete contrast to who they are in "real life".
