The morning after, Joy, played quite fittingly by Cameron Diaz, wakes
up to find a ring on her wedding finger. To her surprise, Jack Fuller,
brought to the screen by the funny Ashton Kutcher, confirms that they
were married last night and they both agree on getting a divorce that
very day. As they were discussing this idea, Joy hands Jack a quarter to
put into the slot machine and it ends up winning the jackpot. Jack and
his friend Hater, brought to the screen by funny wingman Rob Corddry,
are incredibly ecstatic at winning $3 million dollars! But to their dismay, Joy reminds Jack that "what is your's is mine."
When they try to get their divorce, a judge decides for them to live together for six months and learn what it takes to be married. This is when they both decide to undermine the other in the hopes that they will walk out of the marriage first so that they can win the full amount of the money. What follows is a hilarious journey of two people trying to sabotage each other, but really end up falling for each other.
I thought the movie was well played by all four main characters. It was a real treat! It is a great date movie where I feel both guys and girls can really enjoy this movie, especially with many laugh-out-loud moments! A comedy with a great ending (also, stay after the credits have started rolling for two more funny moments). You feel good about seeing it after you have walked out of the theatre!
