Sinatra is a wonderful biographical piece of the late, great Frank Sinatra. Philip Casnoff, who plays the lead as Sinatra, was chosen by 'Ol Blue Eyes himself to play the part. Spanning over five decades of Sinatra's life, this true-to-life piece of work chronicles this legendary performer's childhood through one of his last performances at Madison Square Garden in 1974. Originally aired in 1992 as a television mini-series, this Golden Globe award-winning movie was executive produced by Sinatra's own daughter, Tina Sinatra. Tina has said, "Dad had no interest in writing a memoir: 'What good would that do?' he'd say. 'My life and music are the whole of me.' Of course he was right. Film was the only way to go." The soundtrack to this movie is amazing because they have used all of Frank Sinatra's own vocals and original recordings with classics such as, "That's Life" and "My Way". In regards to the music in this film, Tina Sinatra said, "His music transcends time and intensifies what the screenplay reveals in words."Critique: This movie is definitely a must-have for any Frank Sinatra fan and a must-see for anyone who wants to know about Frank Sinatra's life. With incredible accompanying performances by Olympia Dukakis and Gina Gershon, this movie is a biographical gem!
