NEHST Studios announced yesterday an open casting call for its upcoming feature documentary called Running America. For the first time in film-making history, people will be able sign up online to be cast in a documentary and participate in this record-breaking run. In the film, runners will follow two world-class runners, along with many different celebrities, throughout the route. Running America will be filmed in the U.S., starting June 21st in San Francisco; ending in New York City 45 days later, with world-class athletes Charlie Engle and Marshall Ulrich attempting to run 3,200 miles across the country. NEHST is casting 5 people per mile to run with Charlie and Marshall in their quest to break a world record. Anyone and everyone is eligible to run, no matter how young, or old, even if you have never run before. That means you.
There's Another Purpose Behind the Run "We are working hard to help break down the Hollywood barriers and make sure that every talented aspiring performer has access to be cast in a film," said NEHST Studios Chairman and Founder Larry Meistrich. "NEHST Studios is at the forefront of bringing the movie viewer into the actual experience of making a film. With this process, everyone has the chance to become involved in making films and documentaries." Make it your chance to become a part of history with the opportunity to meet these remarkable athletes, be in front of the cameras and in the film, and meet some celebrities along the way. To sign up, register at Running America's Official Site. You will be able to see the exact route of the run on there. United Way has also teamed with NEHST Studios, and part of the proceeds from this documentary and the record-breaking run will go toward this national organization. United Way of America and its members help build stronger communities in America by focusing on education, income and health. In 2007, a run across the Sahara Desert was chronicled by actor Matt Damon's production company, LivePlanet. Charlie Engle completed the 4,500-mile Sahara Run, running for 111 consecutive days across the Sahara in Africa! Go to Running the Sahara's Official Site for more on this documentary.
