![]() Rated: PG-13 The problem with this production revolves around some of the key characters who have come and gone, and others that have switched their roles. Lilliana's struggle to keep the salon afloat leaves it wide open for Nora's niece (Stacy Dash), who is determined to sell it from under her nose. With selfishness her sole motivator, Simone feels no connection with the shop nor the people who work in it. Her boyfriend pushes her to leave them behind, but Simone doesn't know what else to do. As time progresses, and chaos rears its ugly head, Lilliana and Simone will have to set their differences aside in order to make Nora's a success. But can these two hot-heads work together, or are their differences too great? Nora's Hair Salon, the original, was funny and interesting. Unfortunately, the sequel bears no resemblance to the original production. In an attempt to retrieve some of the humor that existed before, there are several segments where two old men "comment" about the goings-on in the salon. Not only are these pieces interruptions to the flow of the film, they also serve as a reminder that filler was necessary to keep the movie alive. Perhaps Nora's death in the original also killed the possibility of a sequel being successful. I found myself waiting for her sharp tongue to save the movie from itself. The film did have some bright spots however. An appearance from Omar Epps was very welcome, as was the sharp tongue that Tatiyana Ali now possesses. Unfortunately, the budding love affair between these two could not carry a film, which left so many questions hanging in the air, and a gay priest professing his "changed" lifestyle.
