News Briefs - Music

What will the music industry look like in the future?

Today you can leverage the power of the Internet to distribute music around the world for free. Social networks can help you reach out to millions of people to tell them who you are and what you sound like.

While no one can say for sure what the music industry of the future will look like, two things remain certain: it will be the musicians and the fans who decide where we go next. From now on, D:U:M will also be there to help young musicians every step of the way.

Back in its 8th year, D:U:M is now launching its new international platform, providing opportunities to reach out to new audiences: from May 2008 onwards, submissions can begin on the official website, www.diesel-u-music.com .

Diesel will let fans and users tell them who is making the best music. There are no more juries, predefined genres, losers, competition....but if it's none of these things, then what is it?

A strong and vibrant community from around the world: a real support network for musicians aimed at discovering and sustaining breaking artists. The artists that people are really listening to will be rewarded: Studio time, Diesel in-store performances, and getting their music played in Diesel stores.

The D:U:M community will provide the artists with the opportunity to organize tours and gigs in some of the best venues of the world, offer information on how to establish a music career without getting overrun, tools to 'get out there!' and shorten the distance to the music industry. The strongest ones will have the chance to take part in the biggest, wildest parties and perform alongside some of the leading living artists today.

D:U:M is; along with Diesel Wall, ITS and More than Zero, a part of Diesel's long-lasting talent support programme.
