Who is blond, beautiful, and has come out with an album absolutely perfect for your significant other? Enter David Martin and his new album Something In Your Eyes. With his silky smooth vocals and evocative lyrics, you'll be craving this CD like a box of chocolates on Valentine's Day.
David Martin is bound to be one of the best breakout artists of 2007. With such a smooth voice, it's like listening to silk rippling in a gentle spring breeze. His title track “Something In Your Eyes”, as well as every other song on the album, has emotionally deep lyrics that surprisingly make sense to his teen listeners. His light, almost boyish voice speaks words of adoration well beyond his years.
Martin's constant theme of love through pop lyrics, and his almost-sappy-but-not-quite way of expressing it, just warms you up like a cup of hot cocoa, making you “remember the heat of December.”
In a 2006 interview, Martin said, “That is what I love about music—it always comes back to relationships.” And this album shows it. With spectacular performances by drummer Manu Katché of Sting, Neil Robins from No More Kings and Dirt Poor Robins on guitar, this album binds the musical talents of pop lyricists and hard-core rockers into one exhilarating and uniquely satisfying ensemble.
So what do fans have to say about Martin’s debut album? “This was well worth the ten bucks on iTunes,” says Julia B. “I’m not usually into that style of music, but he really is amazing!”
I can definitely attest to that!
