On tour and ready to make an impact in the music
industry, The White Tie Affair recently introduced their new album Walk this Way to the world. The music is infused with pop, rock and electronic. After their commercial debut on MTV with their
music video “Candle (Sick and Tired)", which first aired on MTV’s TRL, the song soon became a
popular must-see on the video website Youtube.
Walk this Way can be deemed as a
“pop/rock” genre, but what makes it so interesting is that the band
also mixes electronica
into it. Songs such as “Mr. Right” embody the album and define it,
while others such as “Take it Home” (my personal favorite) give an
upbeat feel with hip lyrics. For a more electronic feel, the song
“Price of
Company” gives easy lyrics that anybody can sing along to. Emotion is
also
important in their album, and the song “The Letdown” allows the band to
show
their passion and dedication.
As
catchy as the music is, and as interesting as the lyrics are, the band can very
much be compared with Fall Out Boy and Maroon
Five, while at the same time, putting in a little bit more pop than other
alternative/rock bands. The formula for the band is simple to follow, but what is
produced is a unique sound that truly defines them.
At
first listen, you may think the band is what every other pop/rock band is,
but definitely give it a chance. After listening to the lyrics, and going
through every song, The White Tie Affair truly displays a unique feeling within their sound.
