At first listen, you might completely dislike the album, but after a few playbacks, it grows on you. It is quite different and not for everyone, like contemporary art, but step back to observe it and you might find something you enjoy in it. There is so much going on at once in this album, between her ethereal style of singing and otherworldly blend of piano, airy electronica, refined rock and other beats, that it is quite unique and creative. Alex Lilly will release her debut album, Capades, digitally on August 25, 2008. Songs to listen to: Nothing Can Come Between Us, Who Loves You Now, Swedish Boy, Days of Decadence

Once a former back-up singer for L.A.'s retro-pop group the Bird and the Bee, Alex Lilly steps up to take the lead with her new band Obi Best in their debut album, Capades. Dreamy like a lullaby, her voice can be lovely at times, even soothing and gentle, but the delivery of her lyrics is quite eccentric and not always in an interesting way.
