Those who enjoyed their psychedelic, long-winding instrumentation will not be disappointed with this latest offering either. Forth comes with a lot of lyrical baggage. You really have to listen to the words to understand the depth behind each of the songs. Think Radiohead on an acid trip. With lines like "how do you stop yourself from giving in/ seems like the whole world is crying," the listener definitely reckons there is indeed "something going on inside" this band's collective head as they reach for that introspective light through the unfolding music. While none of these songs are as captivating as "Bitter Sweet Symphony", there are some interesting choices made throughout the album. "Sit and Wonder" is a noteworthy track. It bleeds its lyrics from creative wounds and haunting guitar riffs, accompanied by radiating sound effects, creating an almost ghost-like feel. Interestingly enough, the best tracks on Forth are on the latter half of the ensemble. While listening to the album, many will get a sense of nostalgia and find this release makes a great album to sit in contemplation to. Songs to listen to: Sit and Wonder, Appalachian Springs, Valium Skies, Rather Be, I See Houses

It's been years since The Verve have come together in the studio to create a new album. Their historical creation, Urban Hymns, was the fifth fastest selling British album ever on release, and one of the landmark releases in the 90s, mainly thanks to the hit song "Bitter Sweet Symphony".
