Australia has bestowed the world of rock with Wolfmother, Silverchair,
The Vines, Jet, Sick Puppies and now Borne from Melbourne.
With Cameron Tapp (lead vocals and guitar), Steve Kucina (vocals and guitar), Pete McDonald (drums) and Scott Thornburn (bass guitar), together they compose brilliant music and lyrics in Loss of Signal.
This album hit the top 20 in the American Billboard digital charts only a few days after its release. Not only did it catch attention on the charts, it was also featured on television as well. “The Guide” aired on the US hit television series Friday Night Lights.
Borne continues to top the charts and book major music events and festivals such as the Air and Satellite Party coming up on June 14, 2007.
Loss of Signal is a smooth journey of poignant lyrics, blended with a sensational acoustic guitar, and an astounding bass line.
“Don’t Go Now” and “Coma” are both hard-hitting, ballads, evoking internal agony and loneliness.
“Upside Down” is more upbeat, stirring up exuberance and persistence with relationships and life in general. Similar to “Upside Down”, “Morning Star” and “Easily” are both a trip to emotional defiance with lyrics like: "I’m coming up from being down so low…I’ll never be back, back inside my hole/Like a bridge I’m just begin’ to crack trying hard to be strong, but the weight won’t bring me down".
“Sleep with Your Eyes Open” is a more haunting, sensual piece, bringing up a different emotion than previous songs. The standout track, “The Guide”, has to be one of the most romantic songs ever written. It begins with a simple piano, followed by lyrics that hit the heart so deep—don’t be surprised if your eyes begin to water.
Shaken, stirred or straight up—this cocktail of Borne’s—Loss of Signal, will tap into your emotions, heart and soul. Be ready to get lost in the whirlwind and taken to new heights.
