Synopsis: An off-beat personality, a tough-as-nails approach and a track record as one of the country's leading investigators--these are just a few of the trails exhibited by television's next great detective, Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, played by three-time Golden Globe Award nominee Kyra Sedgwick in The Closer. In her first lead role in a dramatic series, Sedgwick plays a tough CIA-trained detective with Southern charm, who has been brought from Atlanta to Los Angeles to head up the Priority Murder Squad, a special unit of the LAPD that handles sensitive, high-profile murder cases. DVD Features:
This television series is one of the few with its own unique personality. Kyra Sedgwick plays a quirky, brilliant detective whose personality is just as interesting to watch as the cases she solves. Whether her character is loved or hated, there is always some elaborate drama going on in and around each crime scene. Sedgwick brings a new perspective to the female detective role on camera. No longer do women have to be all sugary sweet and sexy or Butch Beauregard to make a serious portrayal of a successful, seriously human character. This show has a great mixture of drama and humor. Sedgwick didn't get nominated for three Golden Globe Awards for no reason (and she recently won the 2007 Golden Globe!). Aside from the entertainment value of having season two of The Closer, there are additional goodies - Breaking Down The Closer featurette and the Gag Reel. Once you add these two fun toppings to this tele-ensemble, you really have no excuse not to grab this DVD set!
