Music Nation Gives Your Band the Chance to Win a Record Deal Print E-mail

The web has opened up a whole new channel for aspiring new artists. For us music fanatics, being able to sign online to find our latest obsession certainly beats driving the extra 30 miles to the closest "Indie" record store. And for the uber-competitive record execs, finding a new sound is only a matter of flipping open their laptop.

We all know that any smart unsigned band will set up a web page in the hopes of starting a buzz. After all, what's their other option? American Idol? Well, despair not, all of you web-savvy amateurs. Music Nation, in conjunction with Epic records, has set up an online contest that will allow aspiring bands to keep rock ‘n roll cool.

Music Nation's competition for a Grand prize record deal with Original Signal Recordings, which is a sub-label of Epic, began not too long ago. This is not an ordinary battle of the bands. Each group must submit a video, and will be judged based upon their video and their Music Nation profile.

The contest runs for 12 weeks, broken into quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals. Each band that goes onto the next round will be chosen by either the three-person judge panel, or the fans. If your band doesn't make it to the top, there are other prizes offered, such as 1000 demo CDs courtesy of DiskFaktory. Every band that enters the contest is given the opportunity to share everything they upload with other fan-building sites by using Music Nation's top quality player.

The potential to build one's fan base may be reason enough for any band to want to enter. Music Nation's list of registered fans currently includes over 10,000 people, and literally anyone can access the site to search music. Encourage your favorite band to take a shot at this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to hit the big time shame-free by visiting www.musicnation.com . All those who enter do so free of charge.
