In the ancient Battle of Thermopylae, King Leonidas and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army. Facing insurmountable odds, their valor and sacrifice inspire all of Greece to unite against their Persian enemy, drawing a line in the sand for democracy. DVD Features:
Critique: This film is both political and morally powerful. The entire production seems as if it is pumped up on one big steroid-induced IV from beginning to end. The actors are ripping with muscles from head to toe, the women are adorned with perfect bodies and the monstrous traitor really is...monstrous-looking, if not a wee bit daft. The cinematography for this movie is jaw-dropping, mind-numbing madness. It is one of the most visually stunning productions to come out for quite some time. The lighting, the coloring, the angles—only perfection. The actors chosen for this production are just as mighty in performance as the armor they wear on-screen. The story is flawless in its flow and execution. One could not ask for a better epic compilation! |
