Synopsis: Chris (Gordon-Levitt), a once promising high school athlete, has his life turned upside down after a tragic accident. As he tries to maintain a normal life, he takes a job as a janitor at a bank where he ultimately finds himself caught up in a planned heist. DVD Features:
The Lookout is not an action flick. It is a low-budget character exploration with slow building plot points, leading to a heart-pounding end. There are many moral messages carried throughout this story by the amazing portrayals of the cast. It is absolutely refreshing to see a movie fueled more by its development of character and uniqueness of story, rather than car crashes or high-end explosions. This film-noir masterpiece sneaks up on you quietly and then ends with a bang. It wasn't in theaters for very long, so many people may have missed it—thank goodness for DVDs! Just when you think there will be a predictable plot run, the storyline takes you somewhere else. This film is not as easily predicted as many other productions out on the market today. The performances were real-life, chilling and to the bone. If you are looking for something with a lot of heart, some thought-provoking sequences and a little action spinkled around the edges along the way, this is a movie you don't want to miss! |
