It is every band"s dream come true to be the opening act for Coldplay. For Eisley this dream became a reality in the A Rush of Blood to Head tour. Since then Eisley has shot full speed ahead. They started playing gigs in their hometown of Tyler, Texas. They were first known as the Towheads, changed their name to MossEisley (named after a city in the Star Wars trilogy), and later shortened their name to just Eisley.

The band members are Sherri DuPree (guitar, vocals), Chauntelle DuPree (guitar), Weston Dupree (drums), Stacy Dupree (keyboard, vocals), and Garron Dupree (bass). These four siblings and a cousin have broken out of the definitive genre of rock, emo, new age and techno. They have a sound which is unique and invigorating, accompanied by some of the most beautiful voices.

Eisley’s highly anticipated second album, Combinations, is worth the wait. This is their first release since the 2005 debut Room Noises. They have amped their sound a few notches with a twisty strumming of the guitar and emphatic drums, but maintain an almost new-age sound with haunting harmonious musings.

The first track on the album “Many Funerals” opens with an angelic voice and background tambourine, immediately capturing the senses, leading straight into a subtle impact of vigor and vitality.

“Invasion” follows with an eerie melody, reflecting something like Invasion of the body snatchers: “all in time you will be one of us/ painless, us blameless, go to sleep, this won't hurt a bit/shifting your shape to our shells…”

“Combinations” is simply elegant with a beautiful orchestration of symphony. The final track “If you are wondering” is a lullaby. It is such a sweet, soothing sound, embracing innocence and purity, finishing with a light sound of rain and thunder.

Eisley’s Combinations is wonderfully arranged from beginning to end. Whether you are a follower of Eisley or a newcomer, this is indeed iPod-worthy.
