Just a short while ago, Barry Meyer, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, and Alan Horn, President & Chief Operating Officer, of Warner Bros. announced that the Harry Potter films are the top-grossing motion picture franchise in history! To date, the combined total of all Harry Potter films have reached over 4.47 billion dollars. To give a better clue as to the amount that equals to versus other series, neither the 22 James Bond films combined, or the Star Wars film series, grossed that amount. I'm sure this is quite a heady feeling for all those involved with the Harry Potter franchise. All five of the movies out are part of the 20 top grossing films of all time; this is yet another reason to pat the shoulders of those involved with Harry Potter. All things Harry Potter are no where near finished. There are still two films yet to be released and the sky is the limit. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix will be available on DVD December 11, 2008, so start making your Christmas wish list! Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is set to release on November 21, 2008 and the seventh installment, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is marked for sometime in 2010. |
