I was hesitant to see the romantic comedy GOOD LUCK CHUCK, but it was not the whiny love story I expected. The naughty little flick turned out to be a very funny, risqué film that kept me laughing more than I thought it would. Although it may be considered a date film, the males will love it more than their chick partners. But beware guys, this is fantasy and does not happen in the real world, so take your date home, kiss her goodnight and go back to the cold showers.

{mosgoogle right}It’s the first R rated film I’ve seen with more sex than most XXX flicks boast, but it’s all in fun.

The premise of the story goes something like this. Young Charlie (Price) gets his turn at ‘spin the bottle', but the pop bottle chooses the Goth girl (Pieterse) for his 7 minutes in the closet. As it turns out, however, the 10 year-old evil fan has had a crush on Charlie since first grade and tries to jump his bones.

When he resists, she administers a hex that dooms Charlie to ‘whenever he has sex with women, they’ll find their one true love on the next guy they make love to'. Following a break-up with his girlfriend, the grown up Charlie (Cook) finds out the curse is real. When word gets around about Charlie’s powers, he starts getting a lot of attention from ladies seeking their soul mates. (Here is where it becomes “Girls Gone Wild”). Just when he thinks he’s got it made Charlie meets Cam (Alba), the woman of his dreams, which triggers a hilarious quest to break the hex.

Jessica Alba gives a respectable performance as the ‘clumsy’ hard-to-get love interest. I was totally amazed with her excellent handling of the off-color material and klutzy act. It was incredibly comical and not overplayed.

Dane Cook holds his own as the star-crossed lover, but only due in part by support actor Dan Folger as Stu, his oversexed plastic surgeon buddy.

The most hilarious scene involves a side-splitting performance by Jodi Stewart as Eleanor Skipple, the huge acne-covered woman that Charlie thinks will break his hex.

Stay as the credits start to role for some incredibly weird scenes that I will not forget for a long while.

FINAL ANALYSIS: Good Luck Chuck is a very entertaining, sexually-orientated love story, that should only be viewed by mature responsible people (or a group of middle-aged guys that need a fantasy fix).
