The show featured women who were leaders in their church communities, dance group, and, of course, there are the contestants. It was inspired by an incident -- a radio personality made a derogatory statement about black women -- a few months back. The incident stirred Mr. Jackson, and a few colleagues, to come together and make a party, designed to boost the morale of women everywhere. What a perfect example of taking a sad song and making it better!
The atmosphere in the arena was filled with excitement, but more importantly, the point being made came across beautifully�emphasis on beautiful! That point, simply put: All women possess a natural beauty that they should proudly display to the world.
Not only did the event leave me inspired, so much so that I was able, with a little help from my little light, to safely find my way back to the parking garage, it inspired me to find my place in this world. Website: www.sensationnelhairidol.com

Low self-esteem and bad hair days were a thing of the past at Sensationnel Hair Idol 2007: Recognizing the Winner in Every Woman. Produced by Glynn Jackson, founder of the largest hair show in the country.
With that said, the show, which began its tour in Philadelphia, has been graciously received. Women from all walks of life�every shape, every size and every attitude�proudly flaunted, strutted, marched, posed, danced, smiled, and pretty much bowled over the spectators that filled the James L. Knight Center's Auditorium, with their latest fashions in hair and dress.
Women shouldn't be ashamed of who they are, what they look like, how they think, or how they feel. That old song, "This Little Light Of Mine", definitely reflects the meaning of that night, for as I attempted to leave the show, with the place in pitch darkness, I realized, my own little light helped me to find my way.
