Jump on your off-road vehicle, ATV or half-track and go see Resident Evil: Extinction—it"s wild and thrilling, has a great sequel plot, awesome cinematography and a fantastic rock soundtrack. A word of advice, if you haven"t seen the two prequels you may get lost in the plot. But if it"s just up-in-your-face pure action you want, then rock on.

Resident Evil: Extinction By Kim Farris

Lakeshore Records returned with the motion picture soundtrack to the film Resident Evil: Extinction.

The opening track by Charlie Clouser welcomes you and then throws you in the fire with the hard-rocking screamo of Shadow Fall’s “Stupid Crazy”. “I’m So Sick" (T-Virus remix) by Flyleaf vs. Legion of the Doom is one of the stand-out tracks. It begins with smooth electronica, then builds up with conviction.

Legion of the Doom appears again in “One Love” (Extinction remix). Charlie Clouser’s score weaves within the tracks to maintain alternate disposition throughout the film.

Another stand-out track, “White Rabbit” (SPC ECO Mix) by Collide, is a remixed cover of Jefferson Airplane’s “White Rabbit”, an appropriate reference in the lyric “go ask Alice."

Resident Evil: Extinction soundtrack is a combination of thrash-metal, electronica, and screamo, with the occasional emo ballad and instrumental score.

Don’t be surprised if this compilation makes you feel like joining Alice to kick some Zombie tail!

Resident Evil: Extinction picks up with the world still in the throws of the T-Virus, which was inadvertently unleashed by the Umbrella Corporation during experimentation for a viral weapon.

The zombie-like creatures that resulted from the accident have taken over much of the globe. Corporation scientist Dr. Isaacs (Glenn) has been tracking Alice (Jovovich) in hopes of capturing her, as she is the key to an anti-virus that will give the corporation unlimited power.

Meanwhile, Alice comes across a caravan of uninfected survivors who have arrived in Las Vegas seeking a place of refuge from the Zombie scourge. Here she makes her stand against Dr. Isaacs, the Zombies and the corporation.

residentevil_photo.jpg In the role of Alice, Milla really burns up the screen. Her impressive acting, split-second timing and all out merciless energy reminds me of Carrie-Anne Moss’s Trinity in The Matrix and Charlize Theron as Aeon Flux.

You’ll probably want to rent Resident Evil and Resident Evil: Apocalypse before going to see this spectacular sequel. If you can’t bring yourself to watch four hours of zombies, here are some key plot points that will help you with Resident Evil: Extinction.

Resident Evil: In The Umbrella Corporation's secret underground lab called “The Hive”, Alice has been developed into a biogenetic experiment with extraordinary strength and fighting ability. When a viral weapons test goes wrong and escapes into the lab, the lab techs turn into zombie-like creatures. When these marching dead bite someone, the virus spreads.

Resident Evil: Apocalypse: Alice has escaped the lab where she was being held captive. While captive, her body mutated, giving her extreme superhuman abilities. The virus has spread to the city outside the "Hive", and the government has decided to nuke Raccoon City. The Umbrella Corporation is looking for Alice, but she resists capture and escapes seconds before the zombies go up in a ball of fire.

FINAL ANALYSIS: A non-stop great action-packed sequel with a lot of extreme stylized fighting that male mature teens and adults should like.
