Some of our readers were asked about the worst gift ever given to them during the holidays.  Some of the responses are just unbelievable!  Check out some of these sad, hilarious recounts into Christmas past-gifts.

toiletThe worst present I ever got was a re-gifted check organizer box when I was ten. The reason it was so bad is pretty easy to pinpoint (besides the fact that it was re-gifted by my great aunt who got it from my second cousin the year before), then it being a puke green color...oh and the fact that I was ten and didn't even know how to write a check in the first place.

I once got this really ugly sweater from a friend of mine for Christmas. It was fuzzy and red and had a reindeer face on the front with a light up nose and the back had a tail. The lining of the sweater was a spinach colour and it itched really bad.

I received a toothpick on Christmas. My friend gave it to me with a beautiful box, I thought it was a ring or a necklace in it. When I opened it, I couldn't see anything, soon I found a toothpick lying in the box. I was so surprised, and kind of angry. I thought my friend forgot to give me a gift, just got a toothpick at my house, because it looked like the toothpicks in my house.

For a Christmas party last year, I had a bunch of friends over my house for a "gag gift" party.  We each wrapped a crazy, unthinkable gift and exchanged them...without names.  I had gotten a HUGE thong and wrapped it up.  The only guy who came to the party unwrapped it.  We made him put it on and walk around in it.  Then, he tied it up to his hat he had on and wore it home and when his parents asked, he said, "That was one heck of a party!"

Well, I had a brilliant time making new friends and knowing them as well! They were always there for me when I needed them, so I wanted to buy them Christmas presents. However, I felt really bad after I gave them those presents. One of my friends cannot smell but I forgot about that and gave her scented candles. The other friend has a feet phobia and I gave her socks! Therefore, it was really very bad.

Last year, as Christmas was approaching, I was bouncing with excitement! My older brother John said he had gotten something for me that I would never guess, and that it was the greatest present I would ever get. John...getting me a wonderful present...wow!!! I couldn't wait open the wonderful present John had gotten me "out of the kindness of his heart " as he told me. Within a few days (my brother isn't exactly a pro at wrapping) the present was under the tree. "Wow," I thought, "It's big!!" He told me not to shake it, or else it would break.

Finally, Christmas Eve had rolled around, and I helped my little sister leave cookies and milk out for Santa (she had no idea it would be my Dad's midnight snack) and we went to bed....well after a while. As you can imagine, falling asleep on Christmas Eve is extremely hard!!!

"Danielle, Bailey, get up it's Christmas!!!" John's voice came from over our bunk bed. I rushed out of bed and raced down the stairs. My little sister was already up and waiting eagerly for everyone else to get down.  Tory raced over and dragged Bailey and I over to the tree. John came and sat down by the fireplace. Mom came out of the kitchen and said "Go ahead and open up guys!"

I was tempted to open John's first, but decided to open a different one, a small box. It was a Harry Potter tree ornament!!! Yes!!!! I had always wanted one =). Then, after I got over my shock, I grabbed John's present. I remembered just in time not to shake it, then tore the paper off. There was a white box. I got ready to open it, excited to see the awesome gift I was told was inside. I opened the box tab...lifted the lid.....and it was a pile of wood chips and a battery. "Thank you...John." I threw a woodchip at him, and he roared with laughter. -sigh- What a wonderful present I received from my brother that year. Maybe this year he will get me some toothpicks and a bottle cap!! Hehe.
