Here is the brochure,

do you see it? Just

like the picture"s

sunny strand of beach –

never mind that it’s picked clean

of shells; there is debris

to take their place: butts and bits

of cellophane; breathe

that sweet salt air, perfumed

by sewage released a mile out;

Unfocus your eyes; want

to believe. It is the brochure,

can’t you see?

Of course you want to live

in this world. It’s more yours,

and you can see it. Just

like the CAD drawing’s

green square of clean

where two daughters play,

your slim wife preens, all

three fenced in by haze:

the lily-white fog

of the paper that frames you,

beyond which women never stray.

No conflict could erupt

within these neat lines:

no child raised here

could get pregnant at sixteen;

the slim wife will never doubt

the wisdom of her king.

Purchase this; buy it whole:

we are Empire, now.

Live the dream.

Very nicely written. It's a definitely universal point of view: People want a perfect world, but they don't realize the truth of such a situation (apparently they've never seen Demolition Man. ^___^).

You are clear and concise in your imagery and your point, and the brevity in your writing is masterful.
