The History Channel will be airing a special, Lost Book of Nostradamus, October 28 at 9:00pm ET/PT.

The series focuses on the mysterious book of cryptic prophecies that was discovered at the National Library in Rome, which evidence suggests, is the final work of Nostradamus.

Lost Book of Nostradamus also explores some of the predictions that have given Nostradamus such extraordinary influence today, all the while unveiling the cryptic and frightening drawings in the lost book that take the program to a spectacular and frightening conclusion with critical information for today's generation.

The show touches on the much talked about 2012 revelations, bringing a familiar song to mind with the "it's the end of the world as we know it" concepts.

There are in fact many cultures and prophets all over the world that have predicted this "new age" in 2012. Mainly, it comes from the time-sensitive alignment of the earth, the sun and a black hole in the center of our galaxy. This happens every 25,000+ years.

Supposedly, the black hole is going to reek havoc on our planet's polarization....or something like that...and we are already starting to feel the effects based on some of the weather changes going on right now, etc.

The Earth has actually switched, or reversed, the magnetic poles many times before during its history—and look—we are all still here!

Prophets have utilized the alignment story of 2012 to sell this specific prediction, saying the WORLD WILL END. Many people throughout history have pinpointed this exact date as a turning point for humankind. Whether it be natural disasters, world wars or higher levels of consciousness - they all culminate back to the astrological calendar. Yes, astrology was alive and well long, long ago.

Of course, scientifically, the fact that the winter solstice in 2012 is "aligned" with the plane of the Galaxy has no real significance. It takes the winter solstice 700-1400 years to cross the plane of the Galaxy. In 2005 the solstice was within 0.1 degrees (or 1/5 the size of the Sun) of where it will be on 2012, and the sun crosses the plane of the Milky Way twice every year with no ill effect.

Although it is always entertaining to read or watch predictions made by Nostradamus or other such prophets, whether you or they choose not to believe the sun will rise yet again tomorrow...it still will.

In other words - don't believe everything you see on TV (or read in a prophetic book for that matter). This is something to watch for the entertainment value, not because it is fact.

clayton   |2008-04-06 23:36:08 People should be a little more concerned about his foreclosure prophecy, saying jesus would go back to his home town SW Florence after 5 years being in London. As everyone knows Nostrodamus switched his words around so if people actually cared SW Florida and Orlando. Back to the prophecy, he would warn of foreclosures and the end of the world in 2005. He also had a drawing of an 8 pointed cross that jesus would have tattooed along with 2 other tattoos, another being his initials cjh. Thanks. Reply 0   0
