After two glorious years on Comedy Central, The Colbert Report is still going strong with a devoted cult-like fan base (appropriately called the "Colbert Nation"), which seems to be growing more massive day after day. Colbert recently raked in a considerable amount of press for himself by declaring his candidacy for President of the United States. Unfortunately, this dream fell through, but the drum of the Colbert Nation still beats on with this release. The Best of the Colbert Report is a carefully developed compilation of the show's most memorable moments. It opens with a segment from the show's pilot episode and quickly moves into Colbert's notorious coining of the word "truthiness". A handful of clips from Colbert's 435-part series "Better Know a District" are included, as well as clips from Indecision 2006 and the "Threat Down". Other exciting highlights from the show's first two years include the christening of Colbert's very own Ben and Jerry's ice cream flavor, "Americone Dream", cooking with Jane Fonda, a visit from "Papa Bear" Bill O'Reilly, and his recent Meta-Free-Phor-All with actor Sean Penn. The DVD highlights the greatest moments of the Colbert Report's infancy and is sure to be a treasure among current and future members of the Colbert Nation for years to come. According to Stephen Colbert, heroes are the people who watch his show. So be a hero, Nation, and pick up a copy of The Best of the Colbert Report. The DVD will be in stores November 6.
