This is the tale of a magical toy store that is every child's dream to play in! Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium has every toy you can imagine, and guess what? Every toy comes to life! Mr. Magorium (Hoffman), is the eccentric 243 year-old toy store owner who, if anything, adds to the mayhem of the store. He is accompanied by Molly Mahoney (Portman), the store manager, and the adorable 9 year-old hat collector, Eric (Mills), who finds himself away from camp and at the toy store everyday. Mr. Magorium decides that he has lived enough, after 243 years, and selects Mahoney as the successor to his strange, yet wonderful toy store. The insecure Mahoney refuses to accept the job. She is heartbroken about the idea of Mr. Magorium leaving his emporium, and does not believe that she has the magic to keep the store as it is. Mr. Magorium hires a very serious accountant, Henry (Bateman) to see how much his toy store is worth. Once it is announced that Mr. Magorium will be leaving the Emporium, the store decides to throw a tantrum. All the toys lose their magic and become rather gray and still. It is up to Mahoney, Henry, and the avid hat collector, Eric, to make the Emporium come back to life by believing that they too, have the source of magic within themselves! Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium is a nice movie to take the children to see as it is filled with amazing cinematography of magical toys and instills the message of believing in yourself! |
