Artist: Paper Rival
Album: Paper Rival EP
Site: Official
Paper Rival is an indie band hailing from Nashville, Tennessee. The band just released their self-titled debut EP on Photo Finish Records. This is the band's second EP, after the 2005 release of The Thieves, which was only sold at live shows. Both EPs can now be purchased on iTunes.
Although Paper Rival does not bring any remarkably novel sound to the indie music world, they still manage to hold their own in this increasingly popular genre. This five-song EP is decorated with simple vocals and complex, poetic lyrics, typical characteristics of most indie bands.
The group's music echoes that of groups like Blue October or The Shins,
with soft tracks such as "A Fox in the Garden" or "Alabama". Paper
Rival is well on their way to making their own place in indie music.
The band is currently touring the East Coast. Look for their full
length, self-titled debut in February 2008.
