Synopsis: An intense look inside an ongoing investigation about the mysterious disappearance of a little girl. Two young private detectives are (Affleck and Monaghan) hired to take the case. As they get closer to finding her, they discover that nothing is as it seems and things are more dangerous than they ever thought possible. DVD Features:
Critique: This is a movie that keeps your mind reeling long after the credits roll. To what end would you go to in order to protect a child? Would you compromise what is traditionally considered right vs. wrong? The answer to that question isn't as easy as you think. In this film, the line between good and bad is blurred considerably...not to mention who is good or bad... As far as the story goes—fantastic. If you like crime dramas or murder mysteries you will love this movie. There are so many twists and turns in this production—I am still trying to get my bearings straight. The acting in this movie is phenomenal. Casey's portrayal throughout the progression of Gone Baby Gone makes this film work, aided greatly by Harris. Freeman is the icing on the cake by the story's end. The extras on the DVD are the standard behind-the-scenes footage, deleted scenes, audio commentary, and a little about the casting of the film. Nothing particularly spectacular, but a nice compliment nonetheless. Final Analysis: Gone Baby Gone is a zig-zagging crime drama with an unfolding plot that leaves its viewers a thought or two to chew on.
