Audrey Burke (Halle Berry) tries coming to terms with her husband's unexpected death. Her husband Brian Burke (David Duchnovny) has a best friend named Jerry Sunborne (Benicio Del Toro) who is struggling with his heroin addiction.
After Audrey's husband dies, she takes in Jerry wanting to help him recover, when she is really trying to help herself get over her husband's death. The struggles everyone close to Brian goes through are portrayed with a realism that is hard to depict on screen, but the actors in Things We Lost in the Fire represent those raw emotions flawlessly. Special Features:
This is a film that didn't get much attention when first released. I can't believe all of the people out there that haven't been able to watch such a well put together film. Things We Lost in the Fire exposes the emotions of what it's like to lose someone close to you with a precision that I haven't seen in years. As the film progresses, I was brought into the world of a widow and her struggling to stay afloat in a world that she doesn't want to be a part of anymore. Things We Lost in the Fire is a journey to discover what life really means. Anyone who wants to escape for a couple hours into another world, another life, Things We Lost in the Fire is a film not to be missed.
