When documentaries like Casino Jack and the United States of Money get released, I shout What Now!  In this new film by Alex Gibney (won an Oscar for his documentary film Taxi to the Dark Side) we find a political satire on the level of Director Michael Moore (Fahrenheit 9/11, Sicko).

Soon fans will be able to flock to the Harry Potter theme park at Universal Orlando a feel like they are part of Harry's world. Today, Emma Watson, Robbie Coltrane, James and Oliver Phelps and Matthew Lewis got a sneak peek of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort. 

That funny, rebellious and feisty ogre has a new adventure and it’s pretty darn good.  Laden with funny comments, snappy dialogue and a decent script, Shrek Forever After is fun for adults and the rest of the family. Oh.  You thought Shrek was only for kids?  Well guess again, as this forth edition of the crazy life of the green swamp ogre goes straight for adults and achieves its goal with just reward.

If you like chick flicks that center around multiple stories of various people falling in and out of love then you might dig Valentine's Day. On the other hand, if you prefer substance, a good story and decent acting, you might want to grab Invictus on DVD instead.

Perfect timing for the arrival of summertime (if the summer ever decides to catch up with the rest of us) is the just-released Mathemagic EP (Paper Bag Records). Canadian brothers Evan and Dylan Euteneier decided to get together and experiment with some some sounds and some riffs, and this is what they came up with ... More after the jump.

Ladies, if you are looking for romance with a touch of sports so you can get that significant other out to the movies, check out Queen Latifah’s newest flick Just Wright. With this film, even men who shy away from a film that hints chick flick will enjoy the fun-filled story and its close look at the world of basketball.

This isn’t the way I remember Robin Hood, or Sherwood Forest’s Merry Men for that matter, but the action, direction and admirable acting make for a good film.  The only concerns I have are the length of the movie, the clouding of the original myth, and some jumpy camera work combined with distracting scenes that came out of nowhere.  If you like a lot of action and enjoy Ridley Scott films (Gladiator, American Gangster and...

Syfy's magical show Merlin has seen yet another spike in viewership this last week -- up 40% in fact. Merlin centers around the legendary wizard who is destined to protect and mold Prince Arthur into Camelot's future great king.

If you like the idea of a richly picturesque world, combined with a simple story formula and swift on-screen action, you might just like Avatar on DVD -- even if this isn't the 3D version.

The lively performance by Jennifer Garner makes Elektra an energetic film, especially on Blu-ray.  This being the Director’s Cut, I found it provided more depth to the characters. With the recent release of several comic book character films involving female martial artists, the Elektra Blu-ray makes a good video library piece. If you like films with solid action, an interesting storyline and some very good bonus features, then crank this film up and take the ride.
