“Modern Family” Season Seven a Splendid Comedy

“Modern Family” Season Seven a Splendid Comedy

One of the most successful comedy series in the 21st century, Modern Family has released its Seventh Season on DVD. Just completed in May the multi-talented actors turn up their energy for a memorable season. There are 22 episodes so you’ll not have to worry about downtime if you want to just keep on playing for nearly ten commercial free hours. Whether you’ve seen all the shows already or you just want to relive the wacky lives of the characters, it’s all include on three discs. And there’s even some extras with a very funny gag reel.

In this seventh season the episodes follow all the main characters each with their own special interests and problems. The series is like the Energizer Bunny, it keeps going and going with no end in sight. While most programs wait for almost a year before putting out the DVD, I like the fact that it’s only been a few months. I had missed several episodes and was quick to pick them up and with no commercials.

To describe all 22 chapters would be a waste of time and would not do the series justice, so I will just list the titles and you can probably figure it out from there. “Summer Lovin’”, “The Day Alex Left for College”, “The Closet Case”, “She Crazy” The duck habitat scenes are very funny, “The Verdict” I loved this one as Gloria gets Jury Duty, “The More You Ignore Me”, “Phil’s Sexy, Sexy House”, “Clean Out Your Junk Drawer” Phil and Gloria have a very funny junk drawer, “White Christmas”, “Playdates”, “Spread Your Wings”, “Clean for a Day”, “Trunk in the Trunk”, “The Storm”, “I Don’t Know How She Does It”, “The Cover Up” Jay has a toll attacking his internet show, “Express Yourself” Cameron’s sister comes to stay with him gets crazy, “The Party”, “Man Shouldn’t Lie” the Christian Band is a hoot, “Promposal” auntie Alice is suspected of stealing Gloria’s hot sauce recipe, “Crazy Train”, and “Double Click”.

The DVD has some special features that are actually quite good.

“Growing up Modern Family” several of the cast talk about how they grew up on the show including Ariel Winter who plays Alex Dunphy, Nolan Gould as Alex’s brother Luke, and Rico Rodriguez in the role of Manny Delgado.
“Kids in the Spotlight” a charity that works with kids in foster homes to offer them a chance to pursue careers in the entertainment industry.
“Storming the Set: The Making of an Episode” Danny Zucker executive producer of the show takes you behind the scenes.
There’s also a Gag Reel and Deleted and Alternate Scenes

Whether you are a fan of Modern Family or just want to find out if it clicks for you, the Seventh Season has enough episodes to entertain the whole family.

FINAL ANALYSIS: It’s one of the better sitcoms on TV. (B)
