Hey now, it’s that time of year again! Fall is approaching, and with it comes some of the year’s most exciting events. Besides already being smack in the midst of New York Fashion Week, we are about to turn the corner and run head first into the city’s biggest and best music festival: CMJ Music Marathon 2012. Panels and an impressive roster of initial artists have already been announced!

Much like SXSW (Austin, TX), CMJ Music Marathon (based out of New York) is one of the biggest localized small venue festivals around. For over 30 years CMJ has represented a five day romp around the city during which fans are treated with and exposed to the freshest, most diverse collection of buzzed about bands and artists from all over the world. Featuring over 1000 bands in over 80 of the best nightclubs, bars and music venues NYC has to offer, this year’s festival includes CMJ‘s most wide-reaching line-up to date, drawing on acts from a broad spectrum of countries, backgrounds, and genres.

The Presets will play CMJ 2012.

This year CMJ week falls on October 16-20. Mark your calendars!

Here are some must-sees we think you need to check out when you get there:

  • The Presets
  • The Walkmen
  • Kimbra
  • Com Truise
  • Icona Pop
  • Labyrinth Ear
  • Lily and the Parlour Tricks
  • MNDR
  • Solid Gold
  • The Ugly Club

To learn more info and cop badges (on sale now) head over to the CMJ website. Stay tuned for the announcement of even more artists as we head into October.
