“Table 19” The Misfits Move Up on Home Video

Sometimes a movie like Table 19 translate better on home video and gives audiences a more charming experience. At the theater the film came off the screen as just another comedy lacking a good script. Although the film has not lost its penchant for being silly, at home you have the ability to chat with others and be as goofy as those you see on your big screen TV. Especially if the ladies are having a late night wine and cheese party. Read more

“Get Out” Expanding the Chills to Home Video

Disturbing and provocative the movie Get Out turns up the volume on suspense and terror now on Blu-ray/DVD. One of the better scary films in a long time, the movie challenges you from the very start as to the motives of a family gathering with a “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner” impression that turns sour. If you like fright films like The Visit or even The Stepford Wives then this is your creepy cup of tea. Read more

“Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates” A Laugh Riot on Blu-ray

mike-and-dave-boxart

A laugh riot on Blu-ray, the movie Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates shows why it’s at the top of this year’s comedies. The duo of Zac Efron and Adam Devine remind me of Paul Rudd and Seth Rogan in films like Knocked Up and Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn in The Wedding Crashers. Zany, wacky and out and out looney the story hardly ever lets go of the funny bone. Read more

“Captain America: Civil War” a Blast on Home Video

captain-america-civil-war-boxart

Keeping the Marvel Comic franchise at the top of the charts Captain America: Civil War blasts from the big screen to home video. Available in various formats including Blu-ray 3D, the film delivers the excitement, drama and explosive action to make it an entertaining experience for teens through adults. The film has an incredible amount of extremely good CGI that it’s hard to distinguish between reality and fantasy. The production is so mind boggling, you will probably not take a break from watching the film. Read more

The Good Dinosaur, Growing Up in the Wild

BOXART Dinosaur

Relive the fun and journey of The Good Dinosaur, Disney/PIXAR’s kid friendly and graphically stunning animated adventure. Now on Blu-ray and DVD, it’s a fun family film that features good values about growing up, facing your fears and friendship. The story may be a little familiar for the teens if they have seen most of the animated films in the past 6 years or so, but the youngsters should love the dinosaurs, Arlo and young Spot.

Alexander…the Very Bad Day, Hysterical

Alexander BOXART

One of the funniest films released last year Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day has come to DVD and Blu-ray. While the title is way too long the film packs a lot a laughter in just an hour and 21 minutes. A lot of fun for the whole family, the movie points out how anyone can have a day go wrong, but there’s always a bright side. Steve Carell and Jennifer Garner are at their best and the direction by Miguel Arteta top notch. Read more

Guardians of the Galaxy Speeds to DVD & Blu-ray

GuardiansOfTheGalaxy3DComboPack_smallOne of Marvel’s more non-tradition films representing their line of fantastical creations, Guardians of the Galaxy will be out on DVD and Blu-ray November 18. There are not many movies I can watch over and over again, but this movie does make my replay list! If you’d rather wait until it comes On Demand, you’ll be waiting a little longer — like December 9. Yea – that’s too long to wait…

This movie kicked butt at the box office, raking in over $645 million worldwide. It opened up this past August and broke records – being the biggest box office open of all time in the month of August. Not only that, this bad boy ranked the highest grossing film of the year as well. Read more

“The Outsider” An Exciting Action Drama

OUTSIDER box

An exciting thriller called The Outsider made by an indie filmmaker using a lot of good talent has come to Blu-ray/DVD.  The $4 million production has some good things going for it, but the unimaginative script makes it all too familiar. Not the best I’ve seen for the genre and not the worse either.  If you like dramas with a lot of nonstop action, then you are perfect for this barnburner. Read more
