Up and down, now stretch those thigh muscles and work that gluteus maximus. While I’m not a physical health trainer and I don’t really purport to be one, Tracie Long on the other hand knows health/fitness.  With “The Firm”, 15 training films teaching how to get fit, she showed women how to achieve and keep their fitness health. Now she returns with the release of 3 special DVD’s in her own Focus series.  The newest editions concentrate on getting the body toned and keeping it fit with all-embracing training routines.

Tracie Long is a certified fitness trainer and one of the most sought after instructors in America. She is most noted for her work with “The Firm” one of the most successful fitness franchises with sales exceeding 100 million units worldwide. She now introduces three 30 minute workouts working in specific areas of the body for women.

Mainly for women 35+ who have hectic work schedules and want to work out in their home, the three DVDs in the Focus series are perfect for time crunch days. With “Power Up” the focus is on Metabolic Booster and Active Recovery.  Here Tracie leads you through a nonstop work out with the use of a step. Remember, it’s a DVD so you can work at your own speed.  Tracie pushes the envelope here to work the muscles till they ‘burn’.  She then goes into jump motions, with lunges and squats being a big part of the routine.  She takes you through the whole workout ending with the chest and abs where she includes a number of push-ups and sit-ups.

“The Kickback” presentation features Cardio Interval/Upper and Lower Body. Here she introduces medium to heavy weights in the routine. Using boxing motions and some martial arts moves to get to those muscles that support these areas Tracie keeps the blood pumping and the muscles performing using strength and control.

The final disc called the “Lift Higher” works the Lower Body and the Backside (gluteus maximus) for firming and building.  With the use of a towel or paper plate she shows how work out the Lower half and the muscles in the buttocks. The towel is used to glide on the floor with motions an ice skater would use to push off and speed skate. This last DVD also shows the cool down method and final words from Traci.

While I do not fit into the target audience, I feel that anyone who has the stamina to work out with Tracie Long will get a lot out of the work out.  The three DVD’s are very comprehensive and Traci does bring those using the workout along with helpful hints and a good deal of compassion and understanding. That said, I would probably faint if I had to stretch like Traci, but it does give me a better understanding of how flexible women really are (physically that is).
