“10 Minutes Gone” Robbery Gone Bad

10 Minutes Gone 8-14-18-3953-2.DNG

Even with the star power of Bruce Willis and Michael Chiklis the lame movie 10 Minutes Gone takes a nose dive. There’s hardly anything I can say positive about the film that turns out to be a big disappointment. The story is hackneyed, the acting on the part of support characters atrocious and even Willis flubs his character a few times.

A bank heist has been set up by Rex (Bruce Willis), who hires Frank (Michael Chiklis) to get him a crew to rob a bank vault within a vault. He sets his team up with his brother Joe (Tyler Jon Olson), Griffin (Kyle Schmid), Marshall (Sergio Rizzuto), and Baxter (Swen Temmel) for the team. It’s supposed to be in and out in minutes and caring away a box that has the prize worth millions. Everything goes well until they open the second vault as alarms start to ring and the police are at the door waiting for them. It looks like a set-up to Frank and finds himself on the run against the police and the mobsters who hired him.

When Frank gets to his brother’s place he finds Joe’s girlfriend Claire (Meadow Williams) waiting with anticipation. After telling her that Joe is dead and that their days are numbered, the two go on the run looking for answers to who set them up. One by one the dominos start to fall to the very predictable ending.

You would think that with Director Brian C. Miller who has worked with upscale actors like Sly Stallone and several with Bruce Willis films, he would have been careful how his support cast was chosen. Their ability to act and put energy in their performances is way under par. Add to this their lines are delivered as if reading from their script to adnauseam. As for the storyline, it’s so overused, that even adding some special twist doesn’t make it worth watching.

10 Minutes Gone has been rated R by the MPAA for language throughout and for violence. I was very disappointed with the film.

FINAL ANALYSIS: Not the best film at theaters with weekend. (1.5 out of 5 stars)
