A Day at Wondercon 2018 in Anaheim, CA

Stars of the new TV series SIREN: Rena Owen, Alex Roe, Eline Powell, Sibongile Mlambo and Ian Verdun.

Wondercon has been expanding into the Anaheim Convention Center since it first landed in this venue several years ago. Convention rooms and pressrooms are now at full and often overflow capacity. My day was filled with interviews and photo sessions to promote films, TV shows and web shows old and new. Fans added lots of color to the event with their creative and colorful costumes.

Next up: Photo ops and roundtables with the stars, writer, and director of the taut new thriller, “Bad Samaritan” about two low-level house thieves who stumble upon an eccentric millionaire armed with the latest in high-tech wizardry to conceal a very nasty hobby. Definitely a film worth seeing.

And what Wondercon would be complete without a star from the latest Star Trek series “Star Trek Discovery.”

My day ended on an interview with “never a loss for words” Alicia Lutes, who hosts the “Nerdist” show “Fangirling.” The show by, for and about women nerd culture, features a smorgasbord of pop culture experts and guests who visit movie sets and TV shows, talk about books, nerdy artists, and expound on news and events of the week with a unique female POV.

My one-on-one with Fangirling’s host Alicia Lutes who has more drive and positive energy than I’ve ever seen in a host/actor. She was kind enough to invite me to their Alpha party at the House of Blues. photo by Alex A. Kecskes

And last but not least, the fans:

MechaMan (some serious hardware investment)

Disney character

Stay tuned for my roundtable video interviews currently being edited….
