Barns Courtney Kicks Off US Tour Next Week

Capitol Records will introduce U.K. artist Barns Courtney with a U.S. tour that kicks off next week at SXSW in Austin. He’ll perform at the NME, Americana Music Association and Paradigm showcases, the WFUV and Floodfest parties and a live KGSR broadcast. After SXSW, Barns Courtney will appear on the Western leg of Alt Nation’s Advanced Placement tour, beginning with a March 22 date at In The Venue in Salt Lake City and including an evening at Bahia in Los Angeles on March 30.

barnscourtney1Barns Courtney will wrap up his U.S. run with a series of East Coast dates, which will include a stop at New York City’s Rockwood Music Hall on April 13 and a show with Ryan Montbleau at the Port City Music Hall in Portland, ME on April 14. Tickets are on sale now. See below for itinerary.

“Fire,” Barns Courtney’s first U.S. single, will impact Triple A radio on March 14, after a stand-out success at SiriusXM’s Spectrum channel, where it now has over 550 spins and growing. It can be purchased now on iTunes and heard on YouTube and Spotify. Hailed as “rousing” by People Magazine, the song was handpicked by Bradley Cooper and Harvey Weinstein for use in the 2015 film Burnt and can now be heard in Showtime’s new promotional ad campaign. “Fire” has also been licensed by multiple programs on ESPN and on MLB.

Born in Ipswich, U.K., Barns Courtney spent most of his childhood in Seattle before returning to the U.K. at age 15. In 2015, the young artist went from working part-time at a computer store and sleeping in a car to scoring a U.K. viral hit with the single “Glitter and Gold,” which went to #1 on the Spotify UK Viral Chart, and touring North America with Ed Sheeran, a friend from his Ipswich days. Barns Courtney opened for The Who at London’s Wembley Stadium last month and has also supported Elle King, Blur and The Libertines.
