Ghastly, violent, gory, evil and that’s just the beginning of this wacky clown story that should attract the horror crowd. Clownado is billed as a comedy horror and will be released on DVD and VOD come Tuesday. The film finds a way to outdo most blood and guts films thus far approaching the Halloween season as it gleans on the scary clowns theme.

Professional circus clown Big Ronnie (John O’Hara) catches his wife Savanna (Rachel Lagen) making love to his friend Cash (Christopher Preyer) and shoots the dude. Upset at how Ronnie handled the incident Savanna consults with her demonizing mother Autumn (Jeanne Silver) who conjures up the devil to kill Ronnie. However during the spell a tornado happens changing Ronnie and his gang of clowns into supernatural killers who ride around in the storm. Getting revenge for Savanna’s intentions, the pack tries to track her down.

Director and writer Todd Sheets does a lot with his budget getting a fairly nice crew that knows how to mix tons of blood, model grisly images, slice and dice cadavers, and much more for the bloody killings that make this clown show incredibly sickening. But, it’s probably what the horror night’s crowd gravitates to for a month of personal chills.

Todd Sheets has been around the block when it comes to making the yucky films with 48 credits on videos like Bone Hill Road, Nightmare Asylum, Zombie Rampage, 13 Floors and so many more. Using what he has learned Clownado, although very campy and has a lot most fans have already seen, does gets the stomach in a knot and will tend to make the timid very queasy.

Clownado has not been rated by the MPAA, but contains language throughout, nudity, extreme violence and gore, cannibalism, and disembowelment. The low budget film does get a lot of bang for the bucks showing a plethora of goulash killings, head snappers, stabbings, and so much more. If you are into a lot of crazy violence, than add this to your Halloween party, but you may want to keep an upchuck bucket handy.

FINAL ANALYSIS: Not the best I’ve ever seen, but check it out if you are a big fan of the goulash and ghastly. (2.5 out of 5 Stars)
